Get featured in Alumni book?

Alumni and Career Division had published a IIUM Silver Jubilee Celebration coffee table book which showcases the succesfull IIUM graduates locally and internationally.
However the funny thing is that, most of the succesfull graduates listed there comes from AIKOL, KENMS and IRKHS. Some of them have become well-known figures such as Dr. Mohd Asri Zainal Abidin, Dr. Mashitah Ibrahim, Farah Adeeba (TV9), Datin Norjuma Habib to name a few.
Check out this video that I’ve created for IPAC 2008 entitled Successful IIUM Graduates.
I realized that in the early days of IIUM, they are focusing on these three fields which is laws, economics and revealed knowledge. That’s the reason why these people get listed in the books.
SCIENCE BASED KULLIYAH
Guess what happen for science based Kulliyahs such as in Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy and KAED (KAED is partially arts and science)? They only listed the successful students especially those who receive Dean’s List award and best students during convocation.
I started to think that, how come there’s no famous engineers or doctors from UIA? Usually, people from science background is quite hard to become famous in the local newspaper. Even if you have done some researches and won some awards. If you won a Nobel prize, it would be a different issue.
Well, UIA is only 25 years old. I’d like to urge all my fellow friends especially those who read this entry, let’s get featured on the next 50 Years Anniversary of IIUM Golden Jubilee. We still have another 25 years to achieve our dreams and become a respected person.
What we are studying today won’t reflect truly on what we will become in the future. The important thing is not the recognition. But how we can contribute to the society and the nation.
P/S - 25 years from now, I’ll be 47 years old InsyaAllah.

they also did an exhibition on the successful graduates during last semester in the library..

currently we only have 7 graduated batches from Kulliyyah of Medicine and 3 graduated batches from Kulliyyah of Pharmacy.
we’re quite new as compared to other univ. that’s why, we don’t hear any outstanding achievement from KoM or KoP ex-members yet.

Syarief..
yep memang pernah tengok pameran dekat library tu. tapi buku ni ada lagi banyak info mengenai mereka.
Fadhilah..
