Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) will cooperate and exchange ideas with International Islamic University (IIUM) to enhance the Islamic knowledge for the benefit of the Muslim Ummah, said its Director General Dato’ Wan Mohamad Dato’ Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
“It is a positive move since both the institutions have similar mission in promoting Islam and serving the nation”, he said when officiating “IIUM Book Launch 2009” at IIUM Banquet Hall on 25th November 2009.
He hoped IIUM would continue to be the center of Islamic excellence and produced more quality books in various disciplines to reach the global market.
To maintain its high reputation, IIUM should look at its quality of publications seriously to satisfy with the demand of readers, he added.
Earlier in his welcoming speech, IIUM Rector Prof. Dato’ Dr Sri Syed Arabi Idid said both the institutions should cooperate between one another to achieve a similar objective for the sake of Islamic course.
