The International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Constitutional Head, His Royal Highness Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, the Sultan of Pahang urged IIUM to engage in more interfaith and inter-civilization dialogues.
He said, “Although Islam the the official religion and Malays are the majority in the country, others have the freedom to follow their own beliefs.”
Speaking at the International Conference of Jurisprudence of Minorities in the Light of the Higher Objectives of Islamic Law on 9th November 2009, he said, “This is inline with the 1Malaysia policy, which is devoid of any race, creed, religion or even class.”
