
“As Malaysia sets its pace to become a fully developed nation in the 21st century, equal opportunity and full participation of both the able-bodied and the disabled in social and economic activities should become an established characteristic of the society”, said Director General of Department of Standards Malaysia, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Fadilah Binti Baharin.
“Such is an ideal environment, the speedy achievement of which is the aspiration of any responsible government”, she said at the Opening of The International Conference on Universal Design in The Built Environment (ICUDBE) organized by Kulliyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED), International Islamic University Malaysia on 2nd December, 2009.
