The institution of higher learning should develop the capacity to promote their own research and development (R&D) to keep the innovations from gathering dust, said Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.
“Local universities should not wait for the industry to come knowcking on their doors for the research, instead they should be proactive in marketing their creative and innovative products,” he said after opening the low pressure wind tunnel at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), on 1st December 2009.
Developed by Kulliyah of Engineering IIUM, the wind tunnel, which is the biggest of its kind in the country, is a boon to aerospace and automotive engineering, and aerodynamic research and development.
