Universities are encouraged to set up speaker’s corners for their students, said Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah.
This would be in line with the ministry’s vision to produce creative and holistic graduates, he said after closing the national finals of the Independence Day debate competition among universities on 30 December, 2009.
The competition is jointly organized by the Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation, International Islamic University Malaysia and the Malaysian Debate Council. Participants spoke on Tunku Abdul Rahman and his contributions to the nation.
