How the idea to build this blog was first initiated?

Involve in blogging since 2005, the initiator of this blog, Szakif has seen a lot of IIUM students who write blogs. And from time to time, the number of them keeps on increasing. That’s not all; most of them have developed their unofficial community. Some might not know some others, and from there that they started to visit their friend’s friends’ blogs. On the basis of this, Szakif thought of providing an official platform to unite them and for them to communicate and exchange updates and knowledge.

Not taking too long to voice out his idea, he started to write an entry in his blog entitled “Expectation” and he got a lot of comments that agreed with his idea and discussions were further followed in the same entry and few subsequent entries.

Then, the word “community” was chosen to describe group of people who’ll be registered to the blog. To name the community, “United Bloggers Community of Students of IIUM” or simply abbreviated to UBCSI was selected. Meanwhile, as what you’ve known, the domain name http://iiumbloggers.com was chosen to be the name for the “city” for the “community”.
